We’re a small but perfectly formed group of friends who first got together in 2015 to answer a plea from the late, and much missed John Keedwell.
John wanted a brass band who could play period music to fit in with the spectacular Gloucestershire Vintage and Country Extravaganza, and help entertain the 20,000 visitors the show attracts each year. The Show is a huge fundraiser for local and national charities and is something that we really wanted to support and, of course, have a lot of fun in the process.
Very few brass bands would be able or willing to do this so a group of us, each with a long history in banding, got together to meet John’s brief. We all enjoyed it so much that we’ve performed at the last 4 annual shows and intend performing at many more in the future. In addition, we enjoy it so much that we have expanded our performances to include other Vintage shows and events in Gloucestershire that support charities and good causes.
